About Us

The Australian Centre for Hoarding Squalor and Clutter (ACHSC) is an Australian-first independent organisation striving to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote sustainable evidence-based practices in the areas of hoarding, squalor and clutter.

We are the leading voice in Australia providing education, advocacy, practice standards, and community collaboration to strengthen responses to hoarding, squalor and clutter.

We actively collaborate with mental health professionals, housing services, Government agencies, non-Government agencies and other stakeholders to improve networks of support and advocate for increased funding and resourcing for the sector.

What’s Happening?

Upcoming Workshop: Introduction to Domestic Squalor

Coming in 2025

This workshop aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of domestic squalor, including its distinction from hoarding, contributing factors, impacts on individuals and communities, and effective approaches for assessment and support. Participants will gain practical tools and insights for addressing domestic squalor in their professional practice.
