Developing Practice Standards
The ACHSC is currently working with key stakeholders to develop a set of standards and expectations which assist with quality service provision for professionals working to support those with hoarding, squalor and clutter.
The ACHSC recognises a key gap in working with hoarding, squalor and clutter is the inconsistent, ineffective and sometimes harmful interventions and approaches used within the sector. Practice standards are aimed at embedding effective, evidence-based, ethical and values-driven practices to interventions.

Recruitment of a Strategic Working Group
Applications are currently open for the ACHSC Strategic Working Group. The Strategic Working group will collaboratively develop the ACHSC Strategic Plan, support the development of the ACHSC Practice Standards, determine the strategic direction of the ACHSC for the next 12 months, and identify priority projects for implementation.
Compilation of a Research Repository
The ACHSC are currently working to compile existing published research on the issues of hoarding, squalor and clutter into a single, easy to access repository.
At present, the issues of hoarding, squalor and clutter remain under-researched issues, with literature often being difficult to locate; this reduces access for professionals and hinders upskilling and the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
